Christine Camillieri has been a resident of the Nanuet School District for over 20 years and is raising three children in the community with her husband Joseph. She has one student in the District and two sons who are graduates of Nanuet High School; her oldest attended Binghamton University and her second oldest attended the University of Connecticut. Christine has always been involved with the PTA and has been part of various committees, holding the position of Cultural Arts Chairperson for several years. She has also held the positions of PTA Council President and Vice President, as well as HSPTSA Co-President. As a former teacher, Christine has enjoyed being class parent for each of her children, being involved in district committees and supporting the Boy Scouts, Black and Gold Club and Nanuet Music Parents Association.
Lynn Fahmi was elected to the Board in May of 2018. She has been a resident of Nanuet for over 20 years. She and her husband Chris, who is a lifelong resident and graduate of Nanuet (class of 1988) are the proud parents of two children. Her oldest is a 2021 graduate of Nanuet High School attending the University of Massachusetts Amherst and her youngest is still a student in the District. She has been involved as a member of Nanuet’s PTAs since 2007. Lynn has served on Nanuet PTA Council in various roles including Recording Secretary, Vice President and President. Lynn has volunteered in several community and church organizations over the years, including many wonderful years as a Girl Scout Leader. She is very happy with the quality of education her children are receiving and looks forward to continuing to serve the community by doing what is best for our children and prepare them for productive and meaningful lives.
Anne Byrne was first elected to the Nanuet School Board in 1981. She has served as both President and Vice-President. She was elected to the New York State School Boards Association in 1997 as Area 10 Director and served as its President in both 2004 and 2005.
In 2006 she was elected to serve as Northeast Director on the National School Boards Association. She became the President in April 2014 and is now a Past President.
Anne is Past President of the Rockland County School Boards Association and still serves on that board. She was a co-founder and Chairperson of the Nine County Coalition for responsible state funding. She is also Past President of the Mid-Hudson School Study Council.
For her leadership, Anne was awarded the Everett R. Dyer Award for Distinguished School Board Service from NYSSBA; the EDDY Award from the Rockland County School Boards Association; the award for excellence in school board service from the Mid-Hudson School Study Council; the Westchester-Putnam School Boards Association honored her for outstanding contributions to public education and was named to the Rockland County School Board Hall of Fame.
As President of the National School Boards Association, Anne travelled extensively around the United States speaking at various conventions and conferences, representing school boards. Her theme for her school board service is, “Leading Children to Excellence”.
Anne is a nurse by profession, had taught for 41 years in the St. Aedan’s CCD program, and is a Eucharistic Minister, wife to her spouse Patrick and mother of three Nanuet graduates, Anne Marie, Peggy and Patrick. She is also nana to 9 wonderful grandchildren.
Sue Frisch, elected to the board in May 2019, has been a resident of Nanuet since 1979. She has a BS in K-12 education and a MS in Early Childhood Education. She, and her husband Paul, have three grown children and six grandchildren. Two of their grandchildren are now students in the District. Sue continues to be passionate about education after retiring as a teacher from George Miller after 25 years. She feels strongly about volunteering and giving back to the community she served for so many years. Over the years, she was the Miller PTA vice president and Chairperson of the Highview Park Children’s Committee (1990 and 2011). Sue considers herself an active community member. Some of her projects include getting guardrails around Highview Park, working with a small group of community members to get universal busing as well as seat belts on buses and, most recently, working on traffic issues near Highview School. Her goal is to get more adults and children involved in the educational process. Sue strongly believes that her most important attribute is being a good listener and creative problem solver. She hopes to continue lifting the spirit of our amazing Nanuet School District.
New Board of Education Member, Geoff Gaiss, was appointed and sworn into the position at the October 3, 2023 Board of Education Meeting. Mr. Gaiss works in the financial technology field and is the parent of a student at the George W. Miller Elementary School. He is a dedicated member of the Nanuet community and has most recently served on the Board's Safety Advisory Committee. To serve a three-year term, Mr. Gaiss must run for election in May 2024.
Stephanie Lee was elected to the Nanuet School Board in 2021. She and her husband Jeff have been residents of Nanuet for over ten years. She is a proud mom of four children; one is a graduate of Nanuet currently attending Scranton University; two children are currently in the District; and one will be starting shortly!
Stephanie has a Masters of Physician Assistant Studies and has been working in the emergency department for 15 years. She currently works as the APP Site Director at Montefiore St. Luke's Cornwall Emergency Department. She was also active in COVID-19 disaster work in several regional hospitals during the pandemic. Stephanie was selected for the Practice Affairs Committee and Clinical Advisory and Support Team for Envision. During her years in the emergency department, she has been a preceptor for many future students. She currently is an adjunct professor at the Saint Elizabeth University Physician Assistant Program. Stephanie is the presently the President of the Nanuet Black and Gold Club. She volunteers for Meals on Wheels and Boy Scouts Troop 78.
Stephanie has been an active volunteer in the Nanuet community. She believes in a strong education for our youth and has greatly valued the quality education for her children here in Nanuet. She will always continue to be a strong advocate for our children and families.
Raymondo (Ray) Pappalardi was elected to the Board of Education in May of 2024, and is currently serving in his first term as a school board member. Ray has lived in Nanuet with his family for 14 years. He and his wife, Lisa, currently have two children who attend the Nanuet Public Schools.
Ray has served as an educator for 30 years in private and public schools at all levels, and is currently a public school administrator. During his time in Nanuet, he has been involved in CYO, Scouts, Black & Gold, and as a member of the community stakeholder group for our current bond project.
Ray is a staunch supporter of public school education and is looking forward to using his expertise and experience in education to benefit the Nanuet Public Schools.
