Sadly, Tom Vislocky passed away over the weekend after a hard fought battle with an illness. Tom has been involved with filming for Nanuet Athletics since being part of the Varsity Football film crew in high school. He expanded into filming contests of any kind for the Golden Knights and he was inducted into the Nanuet Hall of Fame for his dedication to Nanuet Athletics and the community he was raised in for over 40 years. Golden Knight Nation has lost a shining “Knight”! Rest in Peace Tom.
All coaches, athletes, parents, and community members please see the reminder below:
The removal or moving of snow, including rolling it from any track, field, or courts is prohibited. In addition, the use of any snow equipment for snow removal or recreation on the track, fields or courts is prohibited. The activities mentioned will compromise or destroy the facilities and alter the ability for usage for all programs. We thank you for your understanding and cooperation to help maintain the track, fields and courts. Do not block the administrative driveway for unloading and pick up.
Be aware that an active construction site still exists on our campus and remain diligent. Do not leave younger children unattended at any time.
- Athletes and coaches should not be parking in the visitor section in front of the high school before, during, and especially after school since this space is needed for visitors to the high school who will be meeting consistently after school for the remainder of the year. Coaches- Please revisit this with the athletes who drive on your team.
Thank you Knights!
Sportsmanship:
The New York State Public High School Athletic Association requires officials to enforce all sportsmanship rules for athletes and coaches. The Section One Standards committee supports the NYSPHSAA statement and will not tolerate negative statements or actions between opposing players, especially trash-talking, taunting, or baiting of opponents including racial or discriminatory comments or slurs.
Yellow card/ejection policy: In the event that a player or coach receives two yellow cards in the same game resulting in a red card, the two yellow cards will not count towards the season total since the player/coach receives a 1 game suspension. Section 1 has a more restrictive accumulation policy.
An ejected athlete may attend the next game and sit on the bench but may not be in uniform ○ A forfeited game does not fulfill the prescribed penalty of a game suspension. ○ Schools can be more restrictive and withhold an athlete from attending the game. ○ The penalty must be served during the next regularly scheduled game at the same level. (NYSPHSAA 7/2020)
Athletes are prohibited from using eye black/face paint in any way other than the traditional use of a single line of eye black (one single bar under each eye.)
Spectators may not single out any athlete during a contest. This includes derogatory comments including the use of a player’s name or uniform number. Spectators should recognize that the purpose of interscholastic athletics is to promote competence, civility, character and citizenship and to always remember that an athletic contest is only a game. Spectators should never address officials before, during, or after a contest in a negative fashion. Contests should be a positive learning experience that respects player, coach, official, school personnel, and community.
